The Colonia de la Prensa is a historic residential area of the city of Madrid, located in the Carabanchel district. It was built at the beginning of the 20th century and was intended as a housing estate with holiday villas and retirement homes for members of the journalistic profession, hence the name. Today, together with the Colonia Madrid Moderno, it is preserved as one of the representative examples of modernist urban planning in Madrid.
